We all knew that there are numerous restaurants around Timog. You can choose whether it’s a high-end restaurant, bar, or a cafe. Just recently, we we’re invited to a food tasting of a newly Filipino restaurant along Sct. Rallos. The name is Abbiocco Alternative Filipino.
ABOUT ABBIOCCO ALTERNATIVE FILIPINO
The word “abbiocco” means sleepy feeling you get after a big satisfying meal. This is exactly what any modern-day Pinoy could define as fulfilling—big servings, timeless dishes, reinvented versions, etc.
To add more interesting dishes, they also include Spanish, Italian, and Western cuisine to their diners. This place is set to establish new family traditions, elevate celebrations, and surpass trends. Look at the minimalist yet elegant interior of the restaurant.
While waiting for your food or while enjoying the food, you will be serenaded by their bands. More satisfying indeed.
Now, I will present to you some of their scrumptious dishes that we had for the food tasting… NO DROOLING PLEASE.
Mild sweet and savory, creamy soup of pureed pumpkin and crunchy local diced biscocho
Golden fried chicken wings tossed in Abbiocco’s homemade BBQ sauce
Flame grilled chicken wrapped in homemade flour tortilla with fresh lettuce, native onions, Baguio tomato and cheddar cheese, drizzled with Abbiocco’s house salad dressing
Pan seared tender chunks of rib eye with garlic confit sauce, served with buttered vegetables and garlic rice
Crispy pork shank with soy vinegar dip
A sour and savory soup of stewed shrimps in tamarind stock and vegetables with a hint of lemongrass and local vegetables
Bihon noodles, baby shrimps, chicken breast, chicken liver, and vegetables topped with lechon kawali slices
Semi-thick pizza dough topped with sisig, mozzarella cheese and quail eggs
For the drinks and desserts…
Nonalcoholic drink: Raspberry syrup, lime soda)
For some refreshing drinks, try their chilled juices! We liked their Four Seasons flavor.
They are passionate in becoming a timeless institution where Filipinos and its next generation may delight in excellent food and outstanding service.

We really had fun with the food tasting at Abbiocco. Can’t wait to go back here and try their other best seller food. Today, July 30, is now on its soft opening. Go head to their place and experience good food and good place. I just hope they would have a Free Wifi for as the location has a weak signal for data.
