mountain quest

Seeking for thrill and adrenaline rush? Go to Mountain Quest!

mountain quest

Want to quench your thirst for adventure? Mountain Quest has a complete package of ATV, UTV, Dirt Bike, and 4×4 experience for you to enjoy.

Located at Purok 1, Sapinit Road, Antipolo City, Mountain Quest has different courses that serve a good adventure. But before you ride a vehicle, they will be providing you with some safety gear that you will be needing: helmets and knee and elbow pads.

Also, there will be a short briefing on how to use the vehicles and the house rules of Mountain Quest for everyone’s safety. After the necessary preparations, we tried the ATV and UTV at their Jungle course that gives adrenaline thru its rocky and muddy road. Expect to be splashed by water and mud as you experience a wild ride into the nature of Antipolo. We tried their Jungle Course, which is good for 2 hours.

After the exciting ride filled with unexpected sightings and experiences, we also tried the 4×4 that was driven by their staff and told stories about what Antipolo has to offer. Indeed a nice way to appreciate nature. Along the road with trees and a generous blue sky that day, we also saw the famous Mt. Pamitinan.

At the end of the course is a river that leads to Montalban’s famous Wawa Dam. There are nipa huts (200 PHP per hut) that can be used for picnics and a place where you can rest after a long ride and swim on the river. It is best enjoyed with friends.

WHAT TO EXPECT?

  • Before going to the course, you will drive the ATV to the main road along with big trucks and private vehicles, so be careful and never miss an eye on your guide!
  • They have a washroom so don’t mind the mud and dirt, what’s important is that you enjoyed it.
  • There’s an eatery beside Mountain Quest that serves delicious Filipino food!

Destinare Beach Resort & Campsite: A newly opened resort in Anawangin Cove

destinare

The sun’s heat is fastly approaching its peak as summer is just around the corner, and so here we are again bringing you to one of the most widely known beaches in Central Luzon – Anawangin Cove.

There is a newly opened resort there, which is Destinare Beach Resort & Campsite. This gem here is located in San Antonio, Zambales, and just 5-6 hours away from the Metro, giving you nice detoxification from the toxiCity and noise.

Here’s what Destinare offers:

ACCOMMODATION

There is a wide variety of accommodations to choose from. Airconditioned villas, teepee huts, cottages, or pay to pitch a tent? Whether you are traveling solo or with a large group, you will have a place here.

destinare
Here’s a sneak peek of what the rooms look like in their airconditioned villa

Other amenities include a swimming pool, a bathroom for airconditioned villas, and a common bathroom for those who ought to pitch a tent or rent a teepee hut.

NOTE: Electricity is from 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM only.

SCENERY

A beautiful sea surrounded by mountains, clear waters, and nice black sand. What a great way to satisfy your eyes and relax the mind.

ACTIVITIES

Another thing that Destinare can boast of, besides the scenery is the activities they offer. They have their own view deck atop a trail made by the famous Benguet locals.

Fortunately, if you are a couple, you can go to their view deck, take 3 keys with you, and after you lock your love wishes in a padlock, you’ll have to throw 1 key to the sea, as local believes that it’s a way of showing that your love will grow like the way the nature grows; with which they also believe that it is safeguarded by a “Diwata”. You can take the remaining keys and safely keep them.

View from the top 🙂

Arriving on top with such a breathtaking view of the Anawangin Cove will surely melt your heart away. Here at Destinare, they also have other activities, such as firing range, ATV ride, banana boat ride, takshapo.

If you are going there for a weekend trip, you may get a chance to witness their weekend bikini open and a fire-dance performance at night while having a samgyupsal by the beach, and if the weather is good enough, a firework show.

Destinare is a great place to go, but it’s not exempted from challenges such as signal and bathroom amenities. Connecting to a network’s signal is hard on the island but it can be a good thing if you want to momentarily disconnect to your mobile phone. Since the resort is just starting to cope with the pandemic and alert levels, some amenities are not yet in their 100%, but owners and facilitators make sure to provide all the best they can offer given the situation.

Caliraya Resort Club is now open!

caliraya resort club

We are happy to announce that Caliraya Resort Club is now open once again!

After almost 2 years of waiting, they are now open to the public and now accepting guests, including kids!

caliraya resort club

We made a vlog about our experience in the resort and you can watch it below:

ABOUT CALIRAYA RESORT CLUB

Caliraya Resort Club is located in Lumban, Laguna and with a breathtaking view of Caliraya Lake. A haven not only for the body but also for the mind and spirit. This resort also offers fun-filled activities, which surely provide fond memories, such as team buildings and family gatherings. It is a 2.5-hour ride from Manila.

The hotel rooms

Since there is still a pandemic, as of this writing, please see the resort policy below:

  • Fully vaccinated individuals (18 years old and above) are allowed
  • Below 17 years old are also now allowed
  • Minimum health and safety protocols must be observed around the resort

TRAVELER REQUIREMENT:

  • Vaccination card
  • Must register to S-PASS or STAYSAFE.PH

OUR EXPERIENCE

First of all, if you are hesitant to commute, don’t worry. Caliraya Resort Club offers a shuttle service from Manila to Laguna (vice versa). That’s what we did.

The pick-up and drop-off point will be at St. Francis Square.

caliraya resort club

Upon entering the vicinity of the resort, you have to take a short ferry boat ride to get to the resort. Upon entering the resort, you have to check your temperature first. After that, you have to scan and fill out a health declaration form.

There’s also a free shuttle around the resort that takes you to different areas in Caliraya Resort Club.

caliraya resort club

The room that we got is Forbes Suites, which is good for 4 pax. The room is clean and spacious, especially in the living area.

When staying overnight at Caliraya Resort Club, it also includes full board meals (lunch, dinner, and breakfast). Note that it is packed in styrofoam. We just transferred it into a plate for picture purposes. 🙂

The food is good. We recommend you to try their pastries. All of the pastries we have tried were delicious!

After we had our late lunch, we started our adventure! First, we went to their front office. Here, you can chill until evening.

Before the pandemic, they used to offer buffets here. But as of now, buffets are not yet allowed.

By the way, they allow DAYTOUR. For as low as 250 PHP per head, you can enjoy some activities in the resort. For daytour, you can also chill here in this area with a beautiful Lake Caliraya view.

NOTE: You must sign a waiver before trying outdoor activities!

DAY 1 ACTIVITIES

Giant Swing: Definitely the most extreme activity we have tried in the resort! RECOMMENDED AND MUST TRY!!!

Water Bike: It may look simple at first but this activity was tiring. LOL! But the view here was amazing! Aside from Water Bike, you can also try Kayak and Canoe here in this area.

Sky Bicycle: At first, we thought it was a simple activity but we were wrong. LOL. But it was a bucket list! You must try this activity. You can also try the Hamster Wheel in this area.

Slide and Fly: One of the recommended activities here in Caliraya Resort Club. But we were scared enough so we didn’t try this one. But we’re thankful to Kuya Ian for doing this activity for us. 🙂

PS: Watch our vlog to see how amazing Kuya Ian is.

DAY 2 ACTIVITIES

Fly Pinoy: All of us enjoyed this activity! You can also do the superman style here 🙂

Also, they also have a mini version of the zipline here in the resort. And the best part here is that it’s FREE OF CHARGE!

Super Slide: This is a fun activity here and we enjoyed this too! On the other side, there is a Mud Slide, where you can also try for FREE! Unfortunately, we didn’t try the Mud Slide.

And yes, they have pools here in Caliraya Resort Club. The other pool is extra challenging though since it is a wave pool.

What we also like about Caliraya Resort Club is every part of the resort will take you to a new place.

5 reasons why you should visit Tinipak Lodge and Restaurant

tinipak lodge and restaurant

Last weekend, we just had an amazing trip to Tanay, Rizal. It is a 2-hour drive from Manila. Days before the granular lockdown happened, we encountered one checkpoint along Rizal. They were checking if there were kids in the car and they were looking for a driver’s license.

tinipak lodge and restaurant

After that checkpoint, it was a smooth ride until you get to Daraitan. Your trip to Tinipak Lodge and Restaurant will be going to be rough but we promise you that it will be worth it.

tinipak lodge and restaurant
Tinipak Lodge and Restaurant

You will know if you’re near the area when you see a river and a bridge. Yes, you have to cross that bridge. Each car needs to pay 50 PHP upon crossing the river.

In this blog, we will share with you the reasons why you should visit this place when you’re planning to have a getaway after this pandemic.

FOOD ARE SUPERB.

tinipak lodge and restaurant
Restaurant in Tinipak Lodge and Restuarant

After trying some of their food, we wish we’re near to them so we can visit their restaurant and try their food every day. Swear, you must try the food here! They have a restaurant along the highway (Kamalig Restaurant), if you’re around the area, please do visit and try their food.

Here are some of our top picks from their restaurant. But all of the food we had were good, anyway! Note that you can dine-in at their restaurant even if you’re not a guest.

The restaurant is open from 8:00 AM-10:00 PM from Monday to Thursday, 6:00 AM-10:00 PM on Friday, and 6:00 AM-12:00 MN on weekends.

GREAT PLACE TO UNWIND.

We didn’t imagine that we can found a relaxing place here in Tanay, Rizal. Since we all know that Tanay is one of the go-to places if you’re looking for an adventure. But if you’re not that kind of person, then just stay at their lodge. You’ll be relaxed, for sure.

Feel the cold breeze at night while enjoying the bonfire with your smores and sausages. We want to go back and experience the place at night since we have to sleep early.

tinipak lodge and restaurant

What made our stay more memorable was because the owners are so accommodating. Thank you for accommodating us, Reyes family!

CLEAN AND COZY ROOM.

We’re surprised when we saw our room since we’re not expecting too much since it’s a lodge. But look, it’s clean and cozy.

tinipak lodge and restaurant

We stayed in their Dumagat Room which is good for 4 pax. It has 2 king-sized beds. It has an aircon but we didn’t use it since we just want to enjoy the fresh air. It has TV and cable but we didn’t use it also since we just want to enjoy nature.

Our room has its own rattan swing and a veranda where we mostly spent our time with. It has a private bathroom also which has body soap, shampoo, tissue, and complimentary towels.

We also noticed that they are still under construction and currently adding more rooms to accommodate more people at their place.

NOTE: When you checked-in, you are entitled to have a complimentary breakfast.

THEY ARE ON AIRBNB.

You can use our code to get 1,600 PHP discount when you sign up using our link here. This is valid for first time users only.

Since we’re already in Tanay, Rizal, we maximized our weekend by doing some adventures such as trekking. Yes, they can arrange your tours if you want to go somewhere in Tanay. Just inform them beforehand or on the day of your visit.

Watch our vlog here:

We went to Tinipak River and Tinipak Rock Formations on our 1st day and went to Mt. Daraitan Summit on our 2nd day. They have a legit and super nice tour guide here at Tinipak Lodge and Restaurant.

DO THEY HAVE TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS?

Yes, they are requesting their guests to submit a medical certificate a day before your check-in date. They accept medical certificates that came from your RHU, just like we did.

Before, the free dessert here were marshmallow with your choice of dip. But now, it’s marshmallow inside an ice cream cone. I think I like the old one.

They also renovate the other side of the room that makes it more cute and lively.

This is the former ice cream room which before, I said, the least favorite room of ours because of its plain design. Now, they renovate it with this summer-vibe look! The free dessert here is banana dipped in frozen chocolates. So far, the dessert here was my favorite.

GUMBALL ROOM
