Casa Garcia: Where nature meets luxury in Cabangan, Zambales

casa garcia beach resort

Here is a fresh escape for the whole family or barkada.

We found a beach resort that offers all the pleasures of a tropical paradise situated in Cabangan, Zambales. Travel time from Manila is about 5 hours.

This resort has all you need for an amazing getaway and is just a 2-minute walk from the uncrowded beach.

Can we also add that it is in the ideal location for sunsets?

Casa Garcia has everything you need for a comfortable stay in Zambales, including air-conditioned bedrooms, a kitchen with all the necessary appliances, and 2 bathrooms (one inside and one outside the resort).

DISCLAIMER: The water supply in the resort comes from the saltwater during summer (March to June only), except for the shower.

Whether you’re looking to unwind after a day exploring the nearby town, or simply relax and soak up the sun, their outdoor pool is the perfect spot to do it. The resort’s pool is one of its most notable attractions. You can also use their floating tray if you want to feel like you’re in Bali – floating breakfast it is!

NOTE: Breakfast is not included in the package. But you can cook inside since their kitchenwares are complete. If you opt not to cook, there is a carinderia nearby.

The resort has a lot more to offer than just its stunning pool, as evidenced by the rooftop balcony, which offers breathtaking views of the adjacent mountains and farmland. You’ll experience a sense of being in New Zealand. Take in the gorgeous scenery while enjoying a drink or a meal — it’s the perfect way to top off a day in paradise.

If you’re looking for a more earthy retreat, the resort’s mini garden is the place to go. The presence of nature is the best place to unwind and rest. And the best part? There is no need to leave your pets behind while you stay there because it is pet friendly.

If you’re feeling adventurous, a local river can be reached 30 minutes from the resort and is ideal for a relaxing swim or a picnic.

There are cottages for rent that ranges from 300 to 500 PHP. There is also an ecological fee of 20 PHP per head upon entering the river.

There are always things to do at this beach resort because there are so many options. Overall, Casa Garcia is a must-visit destination for those looking for a perfect tropical getaway. With its outdoor pool, breathtaking rooftop views, and pet-friendly ambiance, it certainly has everything you need for an outstanding vacation experience. For inquiries, message them on Facebook.

Rest T-House: Your newest glamping site with a twist in Cavinti, Laguna

rest t-house

Cavinti Laguna has more to offer! After the success of the BLOC Campsite and Farm T-House, Tiny-Houses gave birth to yet another aesthetic structure in Cavinti Laguna.

This new attraction is called the Rest T-House. A product of good architecture that is composed of multi-leveled rooms with dipping pools. One is higher than the other from front rooms to rear rooms for visitors to appreciate and enjoy the beauty of Sierra Lake.

Each room has its own dipping pool. A good breather from the usual Airbnb set-up. Complete with sofa bed, an aircon (by request), electric fan, comfort room, and kitchen. Surely you will not be lacking in amenities. Since Rest T-House has multi-leveled rooms, some rooms are loft type and perfect for a group of 4 persons at most.

They also have a griller located at the bottom of each room, so you can bring food without a corkage fee! Plus, you don’t have to worry about breakfast meals since they have their own menu for breakfast!

They also set up a bonfire at exactly 8 PM. A nice ambiance to talk and laugh with friends, family, and loved ones while drinking beer and enjoying the night sky and the calm vibe of the place.

Inside this mini village sits perfectly the Bloc Bistro Bar, where live bands perform and do different activities such as darts, chess, billiards, and table tennis. But as of the moment, it is only available for reservation and soon they plan to open it for every walk-in guest.

The check-in time is 3 PM and the check-out time is 11 AM. You can also ask for assistance if you want to go to BLOC Campsite since Rest T-House and BLOC Campsite are near to each other. This place is highly recommended if you want to unwind, breathe fresh air, and enjoy a vivid new look at the glamping experience here in Cavinti, Laguna!

Cocoons @ Club Laiya: Capsule-inspired accommodation in Laiya, Batangas

Cocoons at Club Laiya

Who would’ve thought that a simple part of nature will be an inspiration to the modern and ever-evolving hospitality industry?

Let us introduce to you the Cocoons! Watch our vlog here!

Like cocoons of a butterfly, a resort in Batangas widely known as Club Laiya Resort developed and evolved the conventional way of accommodation. A cocoon, as they love to call it, is a cylindrical type of room that includes a bed (good for 2 pax) with pillows and a comforter, a vault for your personal belongings, and a mini-fridge.

NOTE: The security deposit is 1,000 PHP and refundable upon checkout.

The room is very clean and just like the outside paintings of the cylindrical room, the inside is at par when it comes to aesthetics. The rooms don’t have a private bathroom but they have a common bathroom. But fret not, the bathroom here is so extra!

The cocoons are available for overnight stay only, for those who wanted to go to the resort for a day tour, they also have cabanas good for bigger groups.

Cocoons at Club Laiya

Club Laiya Resort has many things to offer besides good accommodations. They have 2 restaurants, The Sands and The Rib Shack, that offer Filipino food and a feel of Western/Italian food, respectively. Both restaurants have delicious food to offer, so you better try it.

THE SANDS (7:00 AM to 6:00 PM)

THE RIB SHACK (12:00 NN to 10:00 PM)

There’s no complimentary breakfast. Breakfast meals cost 250 PHP each.

Resorts would not be completed without a pool and a good beachfront. Club Laiya Resort has the good of both worlds having an infinity pool for adults and a child-friendly kiddie pool, and a nice beachfront, whether you want to take a dip or just walk along the sand, they got it for you.

Also, different activities await you there, such as jetskiing, parasailing, banana boat ride, etc. All activities are a must-try when you visit their place. We tried the jetski and we enjoyed it.

Cocoons at Club Laiya

HOW TO GO THERE?

OPTION 1:

If you opt to take the commuter way, from PITX, take a ride on any bus going to San Juan, Batangas. Fare is 310 PHP each. It would take you about 4-5 hours to the bus terminal of San Juan, which is the last drop-off point. Upon alighting at the terminal, you may choose to ride a tricycle or a jeepney going to Laiya. The tricycle ride is a bit costly at about 300-400 PHP due to the distance of 20 km from the terminal to the resort proper, but definitely faster than a jeepney ride, for the latter needs to be fully occupied by passengers before leaving.

OPTION 2:

Another option is to go with your car and google maps your way to it. Just a little reminder, all vehicles, including tricycles, are mandated to pass thru the Municipal Tourism Reception Area to check if you have a confirmed booking reservation and a vaccine card with you. All tourists must pay 20 PHP per head for the ecological fee.

Cocoons at Club Laiya

To those who don’t have the said documents may be required to go back, the travel time going to this wonderful place is not that short so please make sure to abide by their rules.

WHERE TO BOOK?

As we all know, beauty and convenience come with a price. The room rates range from 3,700 PHP to 5,800 PHP. You may also book on their website. Click here.

The services were good, not to mention the good people behind the resort. So if you wanna try to sleep in a cocoon or just relax, come and visit Club Laiya Resort—a nice place to calm your mind and enjoy.

Destinare Beach Resort & Campsite: A newly opened resort in Anawangin Cove

destinare

The sun’s heat is fastly approaching its peak as summer is just around the corner, and so here we are again bringing you to one of the most widely known beaches in Central Luzon – Anawangin Cove.

There is a newly opened resort there, which is Destinare Beach Resort & Campsite. This gem here is located in San Antonio, Zambales, and just 5-6 hours away from the Metro, giving you nice detoxification from the toxiCity and noise.

Here’s what Destinare offers:

ACCOMMODATION

There is a wide variety of accommodations to choose from. Airconditioned villas, teepee huts, cottages, or pay to pitch a tent? Whether you are traveling solo or with a large group, you will have a place here.

destinare
Here’s a sneak peek of what the rooms look like in their airconditioned villa

Other amenities include a swimming pool, a bathroom for airconditioned villas, and a common bathroom for those who ought to pitch a tent or rent a teepee hut.

NOTE: Electricity is from 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM only.

SCENERY

A beautiful sea surrounded by mountains, clear waters, and nice black sand. What a great way to satisfy your eyes and relax the mind.

ACTIVITIES

Another thing that Destinare can boast of, besides the scenery is the activities they offer. They have their own view deck atop a trail made by the famous Benguet locals.

Fortunately, if you are a couple, you can go to their view deck, take 3 keys with you, and after you lock your love wishes in a padlock, you’ll have to throw 1 key to the sea, as local believes that it’s a way of showing that your love will grow like the way the nature grows; with which they also believe that it is safeguarded by a “Diwata”. You can take the remaining keys and safely keep them.

View from the top 🙂

Arriving on top with such a breathtaking view of the Anawangin Cove will surely melt your heart away. Here at Destinare, they also have other activities, such as firing range, ATV ride, banana boat ride, takshapo.

If you are going there for a weekend trip, you may get a chance to witness their weekend bikini open and a fire-dance performance at night while having a samgyupsal by the beach, and if the weather is good enough, a firework show.

Destinare is a great place to go, but it’s not exempted from challenges such as signal and bathroom amenities. Connecting to a network’s signal is hard on the island but it can be a good thing if you want to momentarily disconnect to your mobile phone. Since the resort is just starting to cope with the pandemic and alert levels, some amenities are not yet in their 100%, but owners and facilitators make sure to provide all the best they can offer given the situation.

OUR EXPERIENCE

First of all, if you are hesitant to commute, don’t worry. Caliraya Resort Club offers a shuttle service from Manila to Laguna (vice versa). That’s what we did.

The pick-up and drop-off point will be at St. Francis Square.

caliraya resort club

Upon entering the vicinity of the resort, you have to take a short ferry boat ride to get to the resort. Upon entering the resort, you have to check your temperature first. After that, you have to scan and fill out a health declaration form.

There’s also a free shuttle around the resort that takes you to different areas in Caliraya Resort Club.

caliraya resort club

The room that we got is Forbes Suites, which is good for 4 pax. The room is clean and spacious, especially in the living area.

When staying overnight at Caliraya Resort Club, it also includes full board meals (lunch, dinner, and breakfast). Note that it is packed in styrofoam. We just transferred it into a plate for picture purposes. 🙂

The food is good. We recommend you to try their pastries. All of the pastries we have tried were delicious!

After we had our late lunch, we started our adventure! First, we went to their front office. Here, you can chill until evening.

Before the pandemic, they used to offer buffets here. But as of now, buffets are not yet allowed.

By the way, they allow DAYTOUR. For as low as 250 PHP per head, you can enjoy some activities in the resort. For daytour, you can also chill here in this area with a beautiful Lake Caliraya view.

NOTE: You must sign a waiver before trying outdoor activities!

DAY 1 ACTIVITIES

Giant Swing: Definitely the most extreme activity we have tried in the resort! RECOMMENDED AND MUST TRY!!!

Water Bike: It may look simple at first but this activity was tiring. LOL! But the view here was amazing! Aside from Water Bike, you can also try Kayak and Canoe here in this area.

Sky Bicycle: At first, we thought it was a simple activity but we were wrong. LOL. But it was a bucket list! You must try this activity. You can also try the Hamster Wheel in this area.

Slide and Fly: One of the recommended activities here in Caliraya Resort Club. But we were scared enough so we didn’t try this one. But we’re thankful to Kuya Ian for doing this activity for us. 🙂

PS: Watch our vlog to see how amazing Kuya Ian is.

DAY 2 ACTIVITIES

Fly Pinoy: All of us enjoyed this activity! You can also do the superman style here 🙂

Also, they also have a mini version of the zipline here in the resort. And the best part here is that it’s FREE OF CHARGE!

Super Slide: This is a fun activity here and we enjoyed this too! On the other side, there is a Mud Slide, where you can also try for FREE! Unfortunately, we didn’t try the Mud Slide.

And yes, they have pools here in Caliraya Resort Club. The other pool is extra challenging though since it is a wave pool.

What we also like about Caliraya Resort Club is every part of the resort will take you to a new place.
