Mixedstone Steak & Wings: Affordable steak and wings in Sampaloc, Manila

What’s up, guys?! We found a new restaurant near U-belt and I’m pretty sure students we’ll be happy to know more about this place. Aside from the good quality of food, it’s also budget-friendly especially for students near the area.

Are you studying at UE (University of the East)? Then I bet you already knew about this place! Mixedstone Steak & Wings opened last January, 2010. It is owned by Khaori and Inand. Ms. Kiray Celis is also one of the owner.

Are you familiar with Iron Pan and Chicks & Fins? This two restaurants is also managed by them. Since Iron Pan has best selling steaks and Chicks & Fins has best selling wings, they combined it and poof! Mixedstone Steak & Wings is made!

I swear, the food here are so good! I can’t believe that the price is really cheap for its taste. You better try this now. Also, they are practicing straw-less community. Just bring your metal straw if you dine here.

Their best-selling T-Bone Steak is available for only 109 php! Are you craving now!?

Aside from it, they also have Rib Eye Steak and Porterhouse Steak. You choose! All of the steaks are really good. The steak was well done. Be sure to eat so the meat will not be tough. The sauce also blends with the steak. I guess it was the Peppercorn Sauce.

Not a fan of steak? How about wings?! You have 10 flavors to choose from. 3-pcs of wings plus rice is only for 89 php!

The wings are yummy too! Our favorite was the Soy Garlic. But if you’re into spicy, try their Classic Buffalo for that extra kick! Their Wings in a Basket comes in 5 pcs (130 php), 8 pcs (208 php), 10 pcs (260 php), 15 pcs (390 php), and 20 pcs (519 php).

Sizzling Sisig is also available here. For only 99 php, you can taste their Sisig that’s one of a kind.

And the crowd favorite! They also have Sizzling Nato here that’s for only 89 php. Surprisingly really good! Not a fan of veggies but this one is an exception! MUST TRY!

Me and my friends really enjoyed dining here. The food is really good. No doubt. This is a must-visit restaurant. Go try their steaks and wings! The Sizzling Nato is my recommended dish. In 2 months time, they will add milk tea in their menu so watch out and stay tuned!

24 Chicken’s biggest branch near UST

If you’ll ask me what’s my recommended chicken joint around University Belt, I’ll definitely answer 24 Chicken! Been to there 2 different branches and we had the same experience. From the service, to the food, to the price. Definitely worth it!

In our latest visit at 24 Chicken, I’m really happy because they finally have their biggest branch up to date. More seats means more persons to accommodate! But hey, many people are still waiting in line to get their to-go chickens!

The only thing we noticed was it’s really hot inside especially if it’s jam-packed. I hope they will put air-con to minimize the heat inside and for the customer to enjoy their stay while eating.

It has now restroom which the other branches don’t have. The interior is still the same as the other branches, too.

And still, they are strictly observing CLAYGO. Let us help them to lessen their workload and to discipline ourselves, too.

By the way you’re wondering, here is their UPDATED price list as of May, 2019. Plus. they have new flavor which is the CHEESE!!!

Rosanjin PH: Unlimited Japanese food for only 399 PHP

There will come a time that eating samgyupsal doesn’t excite you anymore. Can you feel me? Or is it just really me?! LOL. Being a foodie, I need to try and taste new food each and every time. And we’re so happy we had a chance to try an unlimited Japanese food at a very affordable price! Yep, UNLI JAPANESE FOOD. Try to check out Rosanjin PH.

This restaurant is owned by Mr. Kenzaburo Kobayashi that is also a chef. The former location of their restaurant was established in Mandaluyong, but they are relocated along the university belt in Sampaloc, Manila.

They serve authentic Japanese food including ramen, tempura, sushi, tonkatsu, and more. Before I forget, it’s UNLIMITED and it’s only 399 PHP per head.

You can find them inside Laperal Apartment. Upon entering the area, you will notice immediately their place because of the huge space they have and the legit Japanese ambiance of the restaurant.

They also have a bar area located at the back. Also, you can have here unli yakiniku or unli shabu-shabu. Both for 399 PHP per head.

Just a little information, the serving of the food is not that big like the regular ones. But since it’s unlimited, you can refill anytime.

The drinks is also UNLIMITED. Try their Calamansi Juice! So refreshing and good.

They have a discount promo for kids: For 3 ft and below, FREE. For 3 ft to 4 ft, HALF OF THE REGULAR PRICE. Plus, if you’re an INFLUENCER, they have another promo for you. Kindly check the picture for your reference.

We all knew that there are numerous restaurants around Timog. You can choose whether it’s a high-end restaurant, bar, or a cafe. Just recently, we we’re invited to a food tasting of a newly Filipino restaurant along Sct. Rallos. The name is Abbiocco Alternative Filipino.

The word “abbiocco” means sleepy feeling you get after a big satisfying meal. This is exactly what any modern-day Pinoy could define as fulfilling—big servings, timeless dishes, reinvented versions, etc.

Tuk Tuk Tea: Authentic Thai milk tea now in SM Center Sangandaan

Milk tea craze isn’t over yet! Just recently, we went to SM Center Sangandaan to visit and taste a newly open milk tea stall located in the 2nd floor of the mall. Presenting to you Tuk Tuk Tea.

ABOUT TUK TUK TEA

The owner, Ms. Dorris, told us that this is said to be “authentic Thai milk tea”. Why not? Because they are using real tea leaves, unlike other milk tea shops that are using powdered flavored drinks.

They have branch in Bulacan and Valenzuela. Now, they have a branch in Caloocan. According to the owner, they are opening a branch soon at SM Pampanga. So check that out Pampanga peeps!

In case you’re looking for their prices, don’t worry! It’s very affordable. But the taste and quality are good.

In Thailand, they usually don’t have sinkers. But because of Filipino demands, they added it to make their customers happier. Sinkers are available for 15 php only.

I really love their Thai Tea. I can really taste the tea leaves plus the fact it’s really affordable. We also tried their Thai Coffee which Ian loved! We are both coffee lovers and its flavor didn’t disappoint us. So good!

If you want some refreshing drink, try their Tuk Tuk Thai Lime Tea. So refreshing and fresh!

Aside from the taste and price, you can hold it without any hassle. I just hope they upgrade their holder and not to use plastic. #EcoFriendly

Sodam Restaurant: Unli samgyupsal + hotpot with buffet for as low as 349 php

We all know that Korean BBQ restaurants can be found everywhere. But as time goes by, our cravings for samgyupsal don’t just satisfy us anymore. We want more.

Luckily, we found a new restaurant offers NOT ONLY unlimited samgyupsal but there’s HOTPOT…plus BUFFET! WOW!!!

ABOUT SODAM RESTAURANT

Sodam Restaurant is the number 1 buffet restaurant in San Juan and also one of the popular Korean BBQ restaurant in the Metro. They leveled up their game by adding more dishes that will make their customers more happy.

I liked the ambiance inside the restaurant. You can move freely plus there’s a second floor so they can accommodate more people. They can accommodate up to 120 people inside the restaurant.

Aside from the unlimited samgyupsal, they add hotpot plus…BUFFET! Yay.

For the buffet, you can have unlimited Japchae, Maki, Korean fried chicken, salad, and more. My personal favorite were the California Maki and Korean fried chicken.

For the samgyupsal, the meat they used are from US. The owner told us that the meat in the States are the best among the rest and she was right. The thin cuts of meats made our cooking easier!

And the highlight of our dining experience, the HOTPOT! The first thing that caught my attention was there’s a stall with lots of Jin Ramen packs. In case you didn’t know, me and my boyfriend are a big fan of ramen. We’re so happy when we saw these inside! We tried the spicy and we really loved it!

It comes with egg and sliced fish cakes. There’s also seasonings inside the ramen pack. The spicy flavor was really not that spicy. I suggest you guys to try it!

Also, I found a new combination food that the owner told us to try. Samgyupsal and ramen is really a good combination! Put some cooked meat in your ramen and viola! Thank me later, guys! You really have to explore sometimes.

Worry about the price? Don’t be because they offer affordable promos especially on weekdays!

From Monday to Friday, you can avail the unli samgyupsal (pork) with hotpot and buffet for only 349 PHP. If you want to add beef in the promo, the price will be 399 PHP. SULIT DIBA?!

The weekend price of this promo is: 399 PHP (pork only), 499 PHP (pork and beef), and 549 PHP (all beef).

Aside from this, they also offer desserts and drinks inside. Note that these are not included in the promo. For the desserts, you can buy 3 ice cream and you’ll get 1 Melona for free.

This promo of Sodam is really a deal! Go visit Sodam and you’ll surely enjoy dining here. I really enjoyed cooking ramen and meats. Plus, it’s the first time I dined in a restaurant like this. You can have unlimited samgyupsal, hotpot, and buffet in one! The owner and staff were very accommodating. I noticed the owner helping the customers inside cooking their ramen or samgyupsal. So kudos to them!

Kusina Luntian: A must visit when in Baler

Before visiting a place, I’ll make sure that our itinerary will be done well. Just few weeks ago, we visited Baler over the weekend. Beforehand, I searched for some recommended places to visit when in Baler. What caught my attention was this local eatery in Baler. And this is Kusina Luntian.

ABOUT KUSINA LUNTIAN

It is owned by Kuya Biboy, a former Manileño boy who became a local of Baler for the love of surfing. This restaurant is one of the most recommended restaurant when in Baler.

But here’s the thing, it is only a simple eatery in Baler. Not fancy like other restaurants you’ll see in the highway. To make the experience complete, they serve the food in banana leaves and you have to eat it with your hands, no spoon and fork. HEHE.

All of the food we got were super good! As in no joke, I didn’t expect it to be that good. I promise you, this is really a must try in Baler! I loved their food presentation as well.

My favorite of all time was their Wapang Wapang na Liempo! I swear, this is heaven!!! Also, their vinegar is a winner for me! Plus, their Paco Salad is surprisingly good. Most people knew that I’m not a fan of vegetables but this one, I can eat it everyday!!!

For the desserts, they have this Nalecheng Biko which looks like a sticky rice. The only difference is that it has leche flan on top instead of mango.

For the drinks, we had their Calamansi Juice which was a refresher after long hours of travel to Baler.

You can also buy some of their products such as Banayad Whiskey, chili sauce, and their yummy homemade vinegar!

Comida: A pet-friendly restobar in Banawe

I found a hidden restobar around Banawe!!! But, it’s not only a restobar. It’s a pet-friendly tex-mex restobar too! Continue scrolling to know more about this newest hangout place in QC!

ABOUT COMIDA

Comida means “food” in Spanish. It is owned by the couple Carl and Melissa. Take note that they are the one who manages the whole restobar. From the kitchen to crew, YUP! Comida had their grand opening last April 27 and attracting more customers up to date.

What I noticed about their place was all things were RECYCLED. From the chairs up to the design and interiors. What a great concept! Also loved the fact that they are pet-friendly too. In fact, they have turtles in the restaurant. One of the names I remembered was “DuTurtle”. What a witty name! HAHA.

I really loved the fact they they are a pet-friendly restaurant. Also, they are eco-friendly too! Aside from the recycled interiors, they are using reusable straws for their drinks!
