So happy to finally announced that Cassalu Coffee & Kitchen is now open inside Ayala Malls Feliz! Much nearer to our place than their main branch in Las Piñas. If you guys haven’t read it yet, I had a blog post about their branch in Las Piñas. You can read it here.
I loved the consistency of their interior and designs. But honestly speaking, I’m loving the vibe more at their branch in Pasig, I think it’s because of the bright lights? Hehe.
Look how instagrammable their place is! Really a must visit aside from the food.
Yes, they still have their famous frozen cheesecake on sticks located outside of the restaurant.
Have you tried it? If not yet, why take a time to read my post about their frozen cheesecake on sticks?! Read it here.
We tried their Matcha Will Keep Us Together (195 php). This is also one of their best sellers. Thought that it will be matcha all over but it wasn’t. It is a strawberry cheesecake inside. But nonetheless, it was still good!
Before I forgot, kudos to their kitchen team or chef/head team, I really loved the consistency of the food. The food that we had in their main branch were still look and tasted the same in their Pasig branch.
Here are the yummy food we got from their Pasig branch…
APPETIZERS AND MAIN DISHES
Combination of potato wedges, buffalo wings, and nachos with ranch dip, salsa, cheese sauce, and chili con carne
Crisp lettuce, carrots, crab stick, crispy wonton, diced mangoes, and shredded nori, served with Asian dressing
Crisp lettuce, parmesan cheese, bacon bits, and herbed croutons, served with Caesar salad dressing
Well-loved crispy and juicy fried chicken served with potato wedges and gravy
An extra ordinary twist on a classic Filipino delicacy perfect blending of deep flavor and spiciness
Cheesecake mixed with dulce de leche and infused with calamansi extract
Warmed brownie topped with vanilla ice cream and drizzled with chocolate and caramel syrups
Still my top picks were the ORIENTAL SALAD and KALDERETA PASTA!!! Not being OA but it is really good. Super must try! YUUUUUM!
Of course, they still have the famous dozen flavor of cheesecakes (1,350 php) here in Ayala Malls Feliz.
They also have a limited edition cakes in can. Available in all their branches. Take a look of it here.

Before we went back to Manila, we made sure that we wouldn’t miss this famous restaurant in Baguio because of their desserts that is located along Session Road, Vizco’s Restaurant and Cake Shop.
ABOUT VIZCO’S RESTAURANT AND CAKE SHOP
This restaurant and cake shop is owned by Ms. Jackie Vizcocho. It started operating on 2004. On the first year of her business, mostly her customers were family and friends. Last 2017, her restaurant became popular. It’s because all the ingredients used are fresh. This restaurant is also popular because of their mouth-watering desserts, including cakes.
Aside from cakes, they also offer pastas, pizzas, rice meals, breakfast meals, soup & salads, pastries, and beverages.
Unfortunately, didn’t had a chance to try these and their other dishes. Hopefully next time! 🙂
Now, let’s go to the main event… Our desserts!!! YUM.
Apparently, this one is their best seller here. But when the time we went there, strawberries were not in season so the strawberries were quite sour. HUHU. But still, I commend their cakes. The frosting was flavorful even the chiffon cake. But I guess this will be my top 1 if the strawberries were sweet. *sigh*
For me, this is my top 1. The mangoes were sweet and it compliment the chiffon and the frosting. Did you know that this only costs 90 php?! Such a great deal. It’s already good for 2 people.
My friends knew that I’m a fan of cheesecakes, blueberry cheesecakes to be exact. I think I tasted all kinds of blueberry cheesecakes already that’s why this was just a typical cheesecake for me. But don’t get me wrong, this is also good and one of their best seller also. This is just my opinion. 🙂
UPDATE AS OF MARCH 2020!
We went back at Vizco’s last February and we tried their Strawberry Shortcake. And at last!!! The hype is real. Their Strawberry Shortcake is the best. We just had a wrong time when we went here in 2018.
We also got their best seller cheesecakes which is Oreo Overload and Blueberry Cheesecake. Again, the Blueberry Cheesecake is just a typical cheesecake for me. But the Oreo Overload wasn’t. This is the real deal! I swear! Choose this over Blueberry. It will not disappoint you, I promise.
We also tried their Red Velvet cake. Unfortunately, we didn’t like the texture of the cake. The chiffon texture almost look like brownies.
Red Velvet Cake
RANKING AS OF MARCH 2020
#1 STRAWBERRY SHORTCAKE (125 php)
#2 OREO OVERLOAD CHEESECAKE (135 php)
#3 MANGO CAKE (95 php)
#4 BLUEBERRY CHEESECAKE (135 php)
#5 RED VELVET CAKE (85 php)
In case you’ll go and visit Baguio, kindly go here at Vizco’s and try their mouth-watering desserts!
OVERALL RATING
I’m really happy because we visited this before going back to Manila. Such a perfect and literally sweet way to end our wonderful trip in Baguio. So surprised that all their cakes are very affordable yet so good. Hoping that next time I will visit Baguio, their strawberries are in season so I can try again their Strawberry Shortcake. 🙂
On our 1st day in Baguio, we had our lunch in one of the famous go-to restaurants in Baguio, Grumpy Joe. I really wanted to maximize our trip in Baguio that’s why I research a lot, where to go and eat, including the best restaurants in the city.
Their logo outside
ABOUT GRUMPY JOE
It is an Italian-American food joint along Leonard Wood Road. It started operating last March, 2014. It’s also near in one of the famous restaurants in Baguio which is the 50’s Diner.
Jampacked during peak hours!
It is situated on the second floor of a commercial building. Although their place is a little bit small, it still have that relaxing ambiance inside. When we went there, it’s almost Halloween that’s why they decorated the place like these… Such a cutie!
Mini bar area…
Now, let’s go to the food! Since two of our friends already went here, they recommended the restaurant’s best sellers and it didn’t disappoint us! YUM!
Dip and Nachos (135 php)Lasagna (205 php)Spicy Seafood Pesto (240 php)Aloha 5 Cheese (Half: 270) and Grumpy Joe (Half: 275)
Aside from these, they also have chickens, burgers, fries, mojos, salads, rice meals, frappes, desserts, etc.
MY TOP PICKS:
Aloha 5 Cheese – It will be kinda biased because I’m a cheese lover but I’m telling you, this one is really good. I can eat a box of these errday!
Look at that!!! Mouth-watering!
Spicy Seafood Pesto – I’m quite surprised with their serving. A plate is good for 2-3 pax already. This one is my fave too because duh!? It’s SPICY. Lol. But I swear, their pasta is really flavorful. You gotta try this!
OVERALL RATING
All the food were really good! So good!!!
I really enjoyed dining here! All the food were good and delicious. Not to mention that all of these were very affordable and good for sharing! No wonder that they are jampacked everyday especially during lunch and dinner. JUST A TIP: Visit them during off peak hours to avoid long lines. Luckily, we went there right before lunch time. Yey!
Also, I wish they will open a branch here in Manila. I heard that they have only two branches right now. One in Baguio and the other one in La Union. Hope the owner will hear my wish/prayer. LOL.
Last October, my friends and I went to Baguio for a 2d1n trip. Let us share to you one of the restaurant that we visited in Baguio, Tsokolateria Baguio.
Sneak peek. LOL. Taken at Baguio Botanical Garden.
Since we came to Baguio around 6 AM, we decided to have breakfast first before our mini city tour. By the way, before we head to our breakfast location, we took a quick visit first at Baguio Cathedral.
Baguio Cathedral…
We took some walk to Tsokolateria from Baguio Cathedral. Yes, we almost do walkathon all throughout our Baguio trip. Thanks to our personal tour guide, Godwin. HEHE.
We arrived at Tsokolateria around 6:45 AM. Unfortunately, the store and the whole place was still closed when we arrived so we had to wait a little bit but it’s okay because the weather was really good and the ambiance outside was okay.
Me and my friends found those statues kinda creepy. LOL
The place opens at exactly 7 AM according to one of the staff. So when our watches ticked at 7 AM, we immediately checked if they’re going to open the restaurant and they did! LOL.
According to them, the real place of Tsokolateria is under renovation so they had to move to another place for awhile.
As the staff gave us their menu, we’re shocked because of the prices… Yes, it is PRICEY. Lol.
But look at their menu! So extra!
Because of the prices, we decided to try their Chocolate Tablea instead since we’re in Baguio. HAHA. PS: We went to Jollibee after this. LOL.
Since we’re curious, we ordered their Tsokolate Ah (190 php) and Tsokolate Eh (190 php).
Tsokolate Ah is nothing but sweet while Tsokolate Eh is a combination of bitter and sweet. Did you know who won my heart? TSOKOLATE EH <3
I don’t know, these past few weeks I’m beginning to like dark chocolates. Is this a sign of adulting?! Hope it’s not. LOL.
Cheers to adulting! LOL
Since we’re still curious on how did they got their names, one of my friend called the staff who’s assisting us and asked him. He told us that it came from Noli Me Tangere which we don’t even remember if our teacher discussed it or not. LOL. Sorry, Ma’am. XD
“Tsokolate Eh means thick and rich while Tsokolate Ah means watered and thin.”
Enjoying my cup of hot chocolate…
Just a tip, if you’re planning to visit here, prepare a bunch of money because I’m telling you, the price is really expensive. Imagine a breakfast meal costs 300+ php?
OVERALL RATING
Since we didn’t experience any of their dishes, I will still recommend it to everyone. Try their Tablea House Blend. Overall, we enjoyed our drinks here. So perfect with the Baguio weather.
Almost every day, there’s a new food stall is that being established in Maginhawa Street. As time goes by, some of their neighbor streets also doing the same thing. One of them is Malingap Street.
I already went to Malingap Street when my friends and I went to Z Compound.
But when I visit last Saturday, there’s a newly-opened food park in Malingap Street. It’s Malingap Central Food Hall that is just few steps away from Z Compound.
ABOUT MALINGAP CENTRAL FOOD HALL
They started operating last October 2017. What makes it different to other food parks? It’s not actually a food park. Or may I say, not your ordinary food hub?!
Look! They have a door. LOL.
This food hall stands out because of its indoor seating. Meaning, you don’t need to worry in case the rain pours. Yey! It has an air-conditioned and al fresco area. It also have ample slots for parking. That is one of the main factors why they stand out.
Aside from this, it has a 600-meter square space. So huge! This food hall is owned by Chef Edward Bugia, the owner of Pino restaurant, which is just in front of them. 🙂
Plus, you can really notice this instagrammable place. Starting from the floor, to its colorful chairs, and to its lighting. Perfect!
Look! You can print your photos inside! WOW!
Inside Malingap Central Food Hall, they also cover events and workshops almost every day. Just visit their FB page for the updates.
One of the stall inside Malingap Central Food Hall is The BRGR Project. Their previous stall was located in Maginhawa Street. They decided to moved here last August, 2018.
ABOUT THE BRGR PROJECT
This has been one of the longest burger joint here in Metro Manila since they started in 2010. They are known for customizing/designing your own burger. Aside from their best-selling burgers, they also offer fries, wings, milkshakes, and beers.
Our customized burgers and milkshakes!!!
HOW DOES THIS WORK?
Upon ordering, they will give you an order sheet so you can choose whatever you want in your burger. Amazing, right?
Sample order sheet
With this idea, you can come up to 500,000 possible combinations! They also offer Keto and veg-friendly options too.
Watch how they prepare the burgers in front of you…
Now, here are our orders! YAY…
Western Bacon Melt (355 php)
Angus beef, bacon, mushrooms, BBQ sauce, cheddar cheese, onion rings, lettuce, tomato, and sesame seed bun
VERDICT: Love how the patty was cooked. So tender and beefy. Look how big it was! Kinda difficult to eat it with bare hands. It will be more delicious if they add more sauce in it, I don’t know, I found their sauce not enough for me. Huhu but this one is good!
Customize/Design your burger (price vary)
Chicken, caramelized onions, lettuce, tomato, onion rings, sriracha ranch, and sesame seed bun
VERDICT:This was my favorite! I really love the sauce. It has a spicy-kick taste that made the burger more delicious. Though you can’t really distinguish the chicken meat in it but overall it was good more than the Bacon Western Melt.
NOTE: The BRGR Project delivers via Honestbee and Foodpanda.

ABOUT THE FAT SEED CAFE + ROASTERY
They just started operating last February, 2018. This is perfect for studying and working people because it’s a fusion of cafe and restaurant. I noticed that some diners have their laptops so I guess this is their new favorite cafe spot as they offer specialty coffee and pastries.

FOOD –
I swear, all the food we had were amazingly good!!! Will definitely visit this place again and try their other drinks and desserts.
MY TOP PICKS:
Kimchi Fried Rice with a Slab of Maple Bacon – This one is so good!!! Actually, it’s my first time to try this Kimchi Rice and I’m surprised that I loved it. Well, I ate kimchi alone so I think that’s one of the reasons why. The bacon was so tender plus cooked well. I will recommend it to anyone.
Grilled Cheese with Tomato Cream Soup – If you don’t know me, I’m a big fan of cheese so this one caught my attention upon serving this to us. LOL. Unfortunately, didn’t had any chance to dip it in the tomato cream soup. They said it tasted like pizza. HUHU. Envy 🙁 LOL. But it’s okay, the grilled cheese is delish alone.
Hotate Soy Cream Pasta – Oh this one!!! The restaurant’s best seller. Now I knew why! They used Japanese soy cream on this one. So good and flavorful. Yuuuum!

Guun-Gogi means “grilled meats“. It is the first Korean BBQ restaurant with hotpot that is located in Batasan-San Mateo Road. They have 11 side dishes that is so good. They opened last August, 2018. It is owned by Chef Geejay De Guzman.
The first Korean BBQ with hotpot in QC
Look how spacious the place is! The place is clean. The place is not crowded (because of the space) unlike in other Korean BBQ restos.
Here, you can get some of the side dishes all by yourself. Yes, self-service.
Here is their menu…
Now, let’s go to the main event!!! The FOOD…
They used charcoal grill which makes the meat tastes better than when using butane.
They have 11 side dishes. Our fave were the kimchi, sweet potato marble, and the jap chae!!!
For the pork and beef, they have plain and pre-flavored meats. The meat has thin cuts but it’s all good! Very easy to cook! Super good!!!
Plus the hotpot!!! Yummy!
One of my fave side dish, JAP CHAE!!! So yummy and flavorful!
Jap chae!!!

About the hotpot, I just find the soup quite salty? Or is it just me?! I don’t know. HAHA. But it was good overall.
TIP: Just be creative with the hotpot, you can add some ingredients coming from some of the side dishes. Hehe.
They offer drinks such as soju inside. Soon, they will have desserts too! YUM!

Did you know that Milktea Ice Cream exists? Yes!!! Just head over in Maginhawa St. to find this.
I was surprised that this place is very huge and wide. I thought it’s just a small cafe because of the pictures I saw on Facebook.
Upon opening the door, this is what you’ll see… Expect it to be a jam-packed place especially on weekends.
It is true that people are patiently waiting at the line to get their orders. Luckily, we had our order done before the line starting to pile up.
Their cup…They also have outdoor seating…
I love the cool vibe inside the cafe. Perfect place to hangout and chill with friends.
Now, let’s go to the desserts! YUUUUM.
We only got desserts because we’re full already because of the Grand Opening of Crazy Cone. We had chicken and waffles for dinner. HEHE.
Wintermelon Milktea Swirl (105 php)
Omg! This is so heaven-sent! Love this! You can really taste the milktea flavor. Just find it weird that the tea flavor tasted more in the pearls, not in the ice cream. Or is it just me? LOL. Nonetheless, it was perfect! The pearls were so soft! I loved how it was cooked and prepared.
Black Mascarpone Supreme (155 php)
I liked this too! It has a sweet and salty taste. YUUUUM. 155 php consists of 1 topping and 2 crunches. You can choose whatever you want from their choices. They have a lot! Sorry that I forgot to take a picture. HEHE.
Aside from these, they also serve rice meals and pasta, cakes and pastries, and drinks such as frappes, coffees, milkteas, fruit teas, lattes, and other specialty drinks.
