Juice Cubi now open in Egi Taft

Happy to be back at one of my favorite milk tea shops here in the Philippines, Juice Cubi Philippines. But not in MOA because they just opened a new branch in Taft.

Between MOA and Taft, the space in MOA is much bigger than Taft branch. The only difference is that in Taft, they have a mezzanine.

Since we’re invited in their Media Launch, they prepared us some snacks.

Of course, we wouldn’t miss to try their drinks! They have 6 series to choose from.

MONSTER SERIES

The cup used here is reusable. Once you bring it on your next order, you’ll have a 10 php discount. Amazing, right?

Our favorite from the Monster Series is their Starry Night which changes it color when you pour a lemon juice on it.

CUBI SERIES

Love the bottle! This one is also reusable. You can also put hot drinks here. For the flavor, you can really confirm that the fruits they use are fresh!

BLENDED ICE SERIES

Both drinks are our fave! The Minty Choco taste like “Dynamite” candy. Brings back our childhood. The Mangolicious is so refreshing.

FRUIT TEA SERIES

My favorite here from the Fruit Tea Series is the Lemon Kumquat Yakult. According to our server, Kumquat means calamansi. This is so refreshing.

CARAMEL CHEESE SERIES

The cream cheese is to die for. A must try, indeed!

MILK TEA SERIES

Their Cubi Special Milk Tea is one of my favorites also in Juice Cubi because they use yogurt instead of the usual milk. We also tried their Taro Black Sugar Milk Tea and surprisingly, it is so good. Not too sweet and has a bit coffee taste.

And we have a good news for you, guys! This January 13 is their Grand Opening Day and they have wonderful promos for all of us.

Pookaberry Cafe new dishes: Plant-based food + Unlimited wings

So happy to be back at this instagrammable cafe in QC! If you missed it, I already went here last June. Check out my experience here!

This time, Ian was with me so I have some pictures in the cafe. Pookaberry Cafe is known for its instagrammable mural wall all over the place. The place was designed by one of the owner, Peter Marco, which is a known pop artist in New York. In fact, they have a branch there!

Yes, the cafe is small but you can also stay outside the cafe since it has tables and chairs there. The second floor is only for private event such as party or any celebration. Yes, you can book and inquire to them. They are very accommodating!

Now, why I came back at Pookaberry? Because I heard that they are releasing new dishes! Excited to share it with you. So, let’s start!

As starters, they serve us these appetizers!

Empire State Tower Nachos (200 php)
Disco Fries (89 php)

One of the owner of Pookaberry, Ms. Jeanette, collaborate with Ms. Camille, owner of Veggie Guys. They came out with the idea of serving plant-based food in the cafe, which is perfect for vegan peeps out there!

What’s in their PBP Sampler? For only 349 php, you get to taste the following:

Smokey Broccoli
Buffalo Cauli (fave!)
Spam Fries
Eggplant Mojos

These are just appetizers, wait for the brunch menu!

Wondering what’s the topping of the Ube Champorado? It’s actually a NORI! Yaaaas! First time to taste this and it’s so good!

Just add 50 php for toppings (tofu squares, vegchon, spam).

In case you didn’t know, their rice meals before were served in a big plate and has good plating. The only cons of it was it’s kinda pricey. So they launched a new version of their rice meals. Now, they are called UGLY RICE BOWLS.

Uncle Sam Breakfast Bowl (fave!)
Breakfast ni Juan (fave!)
Kabute Rice Bowl

They also now have UNLIMITED WINGS FOR ONLY 299 PHP!

Long Island (lemon butter and parmesan cheese)
Soho (soy and garlic)

And yes, they now also have Wagyu Platter!

One of the crowd favorite also is their Special Chili Mushroom Spaghetti!

Of course, we will not miss the best seller PANINIS in the cafe. When you say Pookaberry, paninis will always be the first in the list because of the big servings and unique flavors of it.

Q Cup Philippines: Newly found coffee shop in QC

Is coffee shop your favorite hangout place? We found a newly opened coffee shop along West Avenue…and it’s not just an ordinary coffee shop because it’s also instagrammable.

Just a hint, they opened last October 5 and they are just beside Sambokojin!

As we opened the door, our face were in awe. The place is spacious (as in), the ambiance is relaxing and cozy, and the aroma of coffee will welcome you.

Let me tour you around on their 1st floor.

Aside from these, the tables and chairs are also comfortable and relaxing. Each table has its customized name of the shop.

If you’re looking for some good spots for your IG feed, go to their 2nd floor… You’re welcome! Lol

Love the interior all over the place. And yes, since it’s a coffee shop, they have fast internet connection.

Now that we’re done with the tour, we’ll head over to the food and drinks they offer…

As of this writing, they offer sandwiches, salads, and pastries for the snacks and limited drinks selection such as milk tea and coffee. But according to their staff, they will be having rice meals soonest.

To start, here are the food and drinks we got from Q Cup!

CREAM CHEESE SERIES

They have five flavors but we only got 4 here: Oreo (155 php), Ube (155 php), Matcha (185 php), Chocolate (155 php). All were good but our top picks here were the Ube and Oreo!

Who doesn’t love cream cheese?! What if we tell you that here in Q Cup, you have 3 ways to enjoy it.

#1 Open the half moon lid and tilt the cup 45 degrees. Drink top & bottom layers together to enjoy your drink

#2 Open the half moon lid and use shovel to enjoy the cream cheese first

#3 Open the half moon lid and use shovel to mix top and bottom layers together

SANDWICHES

Love the presentation of the sandwiches. Very inviting plus it comes together with chips.

This is one of my favorite from the sandwich selection. Love the fresh tomatoes inside and not to mention the melted cheese! Yum.

This is our top pick from the sandwiches. The chicken is not overcooked. Loved the fresh and crisp of the lettuce.

Love the combination of the bacon and the lettuce. The bacon has smokey taste which we loved.

BREWED COFFEE

Since the specialty here in Q Cup is coffee, we didn’t miss the chance to try one of their brewed coffee. The one we tried was imported from Singapore. And we loved it!

We saw how the coffee was made via GINA. It’s an award winning coffee instrument.

HOLIDAY TREATS

Tired of the usual coffee jelly that has whipped cream on top? What if we tell you that here in Q Cup, they put vanilla ice cream instead of whipped cream?! YES! And this is lit! The coffee jelly is a winner also! This is a must try!

Will definitely visit again. We will surely recommend this place to our friends as we love hanging out together on weekends! Love the concept and food plus the ambiance is really cozy. Can’t wait for the official release of their rice meals.

Skete Milktea Laboratory, now open in Welcome Rotonda!

So happy to announce that Skete Milktea Laboratory has opened a new branch in Welcome Rotonda! In case you missed it, I already went to their main branch in Quiapo. Check our full experience here.

One thing I loved about their shop is their interior. Aside from their logo, which is a corgi, I like the vibrant color and also the ambiance. Every corner is instagrammable and has beautiful sets of playlist.

The branch here is a bit smaller compared to their main branch. Although the staff here are many compared to the Quiapo branch, I liked the service more at their main branch. The staff there are more approachable and accommodating.

Now, let’s start the PAR-TEA?

Unfortunately, the food served here were few compared to our first visit because according to their staff, some of the ingredients were out of stocks.

Did you know that their food and drinks here are affordable? Yes, you may check their menu here for your reference.

For the drinks, you may choose from their Petite size up to their Giant size. Amazing, right? For as low as 45 php, you can order a milktea already.

Happy kid right here after tasting their Al Pesto! Definitely one of our faves here at Skete!

Ironpan Steakhouse: Affordable and delicious steaks in Manila

Never did I imagine that I will find an affordable steak here in Manila. If you’ve read my blog about Mixedstone Steak and Wings, I’ve said that it’s a fusion of Ironpan Steakhouse and Chicks and Fins.

Just this weekend, we were able to experience their mother branch, which is the Ironpan Steakhouse. They have 2 branches up to date, and we went to their main branch in Sampaloc, Manila.

They are located on the second floor of a building…

What I’ve noticed first upon entering the place was the space is quite small. It has 4-6 tables only. I guess it’s jam-packed here during weekdays especially on lunch and dinner time.

For only 135 php, you can enjoy a decent steak with rice, sides, and gravy. The gravy here is so good. It has a spicy-kick which I loved. Also, all sizzling dishes are serve in an iron pan. Cool!

If you’re not a fan of steaks, they have other dishes too, such as pork, chicken, and vegetables.

The Sisig here is different from the Sisig we tried at Mixedstone. I liked their Sisig here more.

CHICKEN

Both of these were a hit! Must try especially the Chicken Franchezka! Their sauce are amazingly good!

VEGETABLES

And of course, after tasting this at Mixedstone, I can’t miss to eat this! The Sizzling Natong!

DESSERTS

Of course, we also tried their desserts! I really wanted to try their Rice Cake but according to their staff, it’s not available so we chose the Cheesecake Flan instead.

One piece is good for sharing already. So order wisely. HEHE.

I highly recommend this because aside from its affordable price, the food here are definitely awesome and good. As in no joke, for its price, its SULIT. Perfect for students who are near the area (U-belt). Also, they have a branch in Taguig!

Gubat QC: A hidden restaurant in Metro Manila

Craving for Kusina Luntian dishes? Worry no more! They have a Quezon City version of it!

Note that we quite had a hard time going here, especially if you’re commuting. We took Grab to lessen the hassle. It is located in a narrow street.

If you see this sign, then you’re in the right path.

Despite the fact of its location, many people are still lining up and dining here. Why not? The food is really great, just like in Kusina Luntian. Here, they just added some extra dishes, such as pasta.

Here are the food we got when we went to Gubat QC. Happy tummy!!!

Our favorite, extra Paco Salad!!! Swear, this is so good! Knowing me, really not a fan of vegetables, but this is an exception!

For the dessert, we had their Nilecheng Biko. But this isn’t the same in Kusina Luntian. It is just a typical leche flan.

For the drinks, we had Turmeric Iced Tea and Fresh Calamansi Juice. Both for 65 php each.

McDonald’s Dreamy Delights

Have you tried the newest holiday desserts of McDonald’s? Starting today, October 28, one of the leading fast food chain in the country launches their holiday desserts.

Already tried three of these desserts, and here are our ranking:

RICH CHOCOLATE PIE

This one is our top 1! The oozing chocolate is not that sweet, I think the chocolate used here is dark chocolate. Just one concern, it’s kinda messy to eat because of the chocolate.

NOTE: Eat it while its hot!!!

COFFEE MCFLURRY WITH OREO

Coffee lovers, unite! This is our top 2 so far! You can really taste the coffee flavor and the oreo bits! Just a little bit sweeter than we expected.

MILK TEA MCFLOAT WITH BROWN SUGAR PEARLS (WINTERMELON)

Seriously not a fan of their milk tea series. The pearls are too hard to eat. The milk tea itself are too sweet also. Hope they will improve this though.
