We immediately liked the vibe and interiors of the hostel. Every corner is instagrammable from the lobby area. You can also dine in here, in case you are wondering.

PS: They also have a cool elevator inside!

Aside from that, we also spot some board games and pinball machines. This is literally heaven for all those who want to chill in the hostel.

The hostel has also good paintings around the area and along the hallway.

For our room, we got the Triple Room which is good for 3 pax already. The room has 2 beds. The room is sanitized every day, btw! The room has also 2 aircon but we used one aircon at a time only. HEHE

The lavatory and CR are located on the second bed (right). The room smells so nice too!

They also have complimentary toiletries and safety kits! It also comes with free slippers. Yes, we took home the slippers! LOL

For the food, don’t worry. As we’ve mentioned earlier, they have a restaurant inside the hostel. You can choose to eat at the lobby or at the roof deck.

We spent our breakfast and dinner at the roof deck. This is where the jacuzzi is located also. We enjoyed all the food we had at UNWND Lux Hostel. They also make sure that the utensils are sanitized by putting it inside a small paper bag.

For our dinner, we had the following food and drinks. We suggest to dine in here at night since the view is great!

The pizza is so good! The cocktail drinks we had were quite strong but also good. The red thing in the Filipino Summer is chili, by the way! HAHA

We also got a customized dessert from them too! Thank you for the sweet gesture, UNWND!

And for our breakfast, here’s the food we got:

The Breakfast of Champions is a winner! The souffle pancakes are also a god-tier! For the drinks, you can choose between a coffee or juice but since we are coffee lovers, we opted to chose the coffee. The complimentary chocolate bars made our day too!

For the amenities, you can find all of them at the fifth floor. This is where the gym, sauna, spa, and jacuzzi are located. The spa is not operational yet though.

To use the jacuzzi, you must have a schedule. You can inform the staff of your chosen time. You have 1 hour to enjoy the jacuzzi to yourselves. Every after use, they clean the water.

We enjoyed our staycation and anniversary at UNWND Lux Hostel! The staff are very accommodating. The room is clean with complete toiletries. The CR is also clean! The food and drinks are delicious and good! We’ll definitely recommend it to those who are looking for a nice stay in Makati.

Lelita Hotel: Safecation is the new normal

Finally, received the good news! Staycation is now allowed in Metro Manila. Immediately, we searched for a hotel in Zen Rooms and found this new hotel in Makati, which is Lelita Hotel.

Lelita Hotel was established last June 2019 and is located in Bangkal, Makati. The hotel has 7 floors and a roof deck. But due to the pandemic, their roof deck is currently unavailable until further notice.

What we liked about this hotel was they are following safety protocols such as: foot bath and alcohol/hand sanitizers upon entrance, temperature check before checking-in, and you must fill out health declaration form.

We also noticed that the employees in the hotel are wearing PPEs for the safety of their guests.

We also had a hassle-free check-in. They only need 1 valid ID and they also have a security deposit worth 1,000 PHP which is refundable upon checking-out.

For the room, what we noticed was the room is very spacious and clean. They also provide toiletries such as bath towels, tissues, soaps, shampoo with conditioner, and a dental kit.

You can see that the room is organized and the CR is properly sanitized. Also, they have a WIFI inside the hotel and it has a strong connection.

They also gave us complimentary bottled waters after checking-in. They also have a hair dryer, electric kettle, glasses, and a pitcher.

As of now, they don’t offer complimentary breakfast in the hotel but they have a store located at the lobby or you can also get your food delivered from your favorite food delivery apps but the food delivery riders are not allowed to enter the hotel for safety protocols.

You may pickup your orders outside instead just like we did. There are also convenient stores nearby the hotel if you opted not to order food.

Overall, the hotel is not much on the aesthetic side yet it compensates with safety and cleanliness. We had a great stay at Lelita Hotel!

Celebrate special occasions at Clyde Suites Tagaytay

Finally, our first out-of-town trip after 10 months! We really made it possible since we’re celebrating another milestone.

HAPPY 4TH ANNIVERSARY,

THE HUNGRY TRAVELER PH!!!

We celebrated The Hungry Traveler PH‘s anniversary in advance so we can post the photos on the day of our anniversary, which is today. LOL!

And since we’re badly missing Tagaytay, which is also our favorite go-to destination, we decided to celebrate here. And we found a perfect place to celebrate our anniversary.

So thankful that we saw a post regarding Clyde Suites Tagaytay months before and immediately booked a stay with them. They are located in Tagaytay Prime Residences.

We supposed to stay in Taal View room but unfortunately, the only available room on our preferred date was the Bali-inspired room, which was also okay for me.

For the requirements, you only need 1 valid ID upon checking in! And yes, we went to Tagaytay using public transportation. It’s actually our 1st time commuting after 9 months.

We’re scared but we just prayed and took some extra precautions to make ourselves safe during the trip.

We arrived around 6 PM already because of the heavy traffic along Aguinaldo Highway. But don’t worry because here at Clyde Suites, you can do self check-in just like we did. They will instruct you on how to do the self check-in.

Ian was surprised when he saw the surprise/welcome setup. It’s actually my idea to do a surprise setup and we’re both happy with it. It’s so beautiful.

Yes, here at Clyde Suites Tagaytay, they do surprise setups which is very convenient if you have a celebration or any occasions you want to celebrate. From birthdays to anniversaries, they have a package! Just inform them 2-3 days before your check-in date for them to prepare.

Aside from the setup, we’re so inlove with the room itself. I can’t remember how many times I told Ian that I want a room exactly like this. From the design to the things inside, I want it all! HAHA.

Super inlove with their kitchenwares! Look at that aesthetic mugs! Perfect for your morning coffee.

For the freebies, they have 2 complimentary bottled waters and 2 instant coffees. They also have free slippers inside the room. On the bathroom, they provided tissue, body wash, and shampoo.

This was the morning view around 6 AM. After few minutes, it became zero visibility.

My favorite part of the room would be their bed of course, plus this closet. Yes, this is a closet. LOL!

For those who are asking, they have an internet connection and SMART TV in the room. Actually, we just enjoyed watching videos on YouTube and listened to music during our stay. Definitely a breather!!!

We’ll definitely go back here and hopefully, we can visit the other rooms too! Due to COVID-19, their swimming pool is currently unavailable until futher notice.

10 things to do in Valleypoint Campsite

Panagbenga Festival is coming! We know that a lot of people will go to have some fun in Baguio. But after that, what to do or where to stay in Baguio? Maximize your time when going to Baguio. That’s why we’ll suggest a sidetrip that everyone will enjoy.

Also, just wanna let you know that this is our 2nd time here. And we must say, there’s a lot of improvement from the last time we went here. In case you want to know our 1st experience at Valleypoint Campsite, kindly read here.

WHAT TO DO AT VALLEYPOINT CAMPSITE?

1. ENJOY UNLIMITED COFFEE

Who doesn’t want unlimited brewed coffee while looking at this view, right? What if we tell you that you can have this for FREE. Yup, IT’S FREE.

2. CHILL AT CAMPERS AREA

During our 2018 visit, the campers area is only open until 10 PM. But today, it is 24 HOURS OPEN! Here, you can literally chill on their beanbags, play board games, read books, cuddle with their colorful bears, and enjoy the view.

3. STAY IN ANY OF THEIR ACCOMMODATION

Kubo Glamping (3,500 php; good for 2 pax)

This is one of their newest room. For me, it’s the upgraded version of glamping. Why? Because it almost look like a normal hotel… but with a view.

Aside from the usual mattress, pillows, and blankets, it also has a TV which you can watch movies because they will give you a flash drive that have lots of it.

Of course, disregard the aircon since you are in Benguet but they have a fan in case.

Tent Glamping (starts at 850 php to 1,350 php per head)

This is where we stayed last 2018. Unlike the Kubo Glamping, you’ll experience here a normal camping in tent. But the twist is you’ll get a wonderful view plus you’ll also enjoy the weather.

Both Kubo and Tent glamping have storage boxes to put your shoes and other things to avoid these in getting wet.

In case you don’t want these kind of rooms, they have normal rooms which is good for sharing.

4. DINE AT THEIR RESTAURANT/MINI BAR

Who wants to eat with a view? Yes?! They offer Filipino food and also they offer buffet every weekend. So don’t miss it! Note that all checked-in guests have complimentary breakfast.

5. ENJOY THE ACTIVITIES

AIRSOFT/AIRSOFT MAZE

When we went here last 2018, this is the only activity they offer. But now, you can do the regular airsoft or with a twist, the AIRSOFT MAZE.

ARCHERY

I came back here for this! I was actually excited when I saw on their Facebook page that they now has Archery. We enjoyed this one. Ian did hit the target. WOW!

6. VISIT THEIR ART GALLERY

This is also one of their newest attraction here in Valleypoint Campsite. Loved the concept and the idea.

7. ENJOY THE VIEW

Of course, don’t miss the breathtaking view. Every second is gold. The view may disappear in just one snap. Look how it changes from time to time.

8. PHOTO OPS IN THE GARDEN

Ever since, I loved this area. Full of flowers and leaves plus the view. Aaah life! You can also chill in one of their kubo.

9. DO BONFIRE

Yes, they have an area for bonfire. Perfect while sipping your brewed coffee.

10. JOGGING IN THE MORNING

Nope, we didn’t jog. But in case you are into it, you can do it in Valleypoint Campsite. The pathway outside is perfect for jogging.

Our overnight experience at Residence Inn Tagaytay

Few weeks ago, we had an awesome weekend at Tagaytay. Although it was a short and quick vacation, we definitely had fun.

We spent our weekend at Residence Inn Tagaytay. We went here to attend an annual event that is the Dinner in the Dark.

In this post, we will share our overnight experience at Residence Inn.

By the way, our room has an overlooking of Taal Volcano which is also known as View Deck Room.

You may opt to stay here or in their Main Room, which has no view. I guess, much better to stay in their View Deck Room to have a better stay experience.

Now, we will show you how the room looks inside. What’s inside of their View Deck Room?

The room is spacious. The name of our room is “Paradizoo”. It has 2 single beds, sofa beside the beds. It also has mini dining table that has a view. Beside the dining table is the mini refrigerator and a kettle. The TV is not in its latest model but it has cable. The aircon is working good, as well.

The CR has a heater which is perfect because the weather in Tagaytay is unpredictable. It also has toiletries inside such as soaps, toothpaste, toothbrush, and tissue. It has a closet too which has extra mattress inside.

How about this view when you open the door every morning?

But the most favorite part of our stay is that you can enjoy your breakfast with an awesome view. Look!

By the way, breakfast is not included in the package. You can order at their restaurant instead. Bringing outside food and drinks are strictly prohibited. Note also that ordering food at their restaurant is until 7:00 PM only.

BREAKFAST is from 6:00-10:00 AM

I loved the view, indeed. Hoping that they will reconstruct the design of each room. You can tell that the structure and other facilities are outdated. But nonetheless, we had an amazing and relaxing stay! Hopefully we can stay here again, but longer stay! Hehe.

We got their Deluxe Twin with view. It’s actually a loft room and I realized that I love that style of room. Thinking of having it on my own house soon.

Casa Amapola: Tango-inspired room in Makati

It was a fine Saturday when we decided to have a staycation in Makati. I immediately opened my TravelBook.PH app to check where can we stay. And I found this bed & breakfast that is just few blocks away from Rockwell Powerplant Mall.

ABOUT CASA AMAPOLA

This b&b is an old residential house before. To make it more appealing to everyone, they make the house a tango-inspired room which combines art and business inside.

Our room, Una Emocion, has a king-size bed, two chairs with furry mat, office chair, cable TV, air-con, WiFi connection, cabinet, sofa, and a comfort room.

It also has its own terrace but I forgot to take a pic outside. Hihi. Upon going up to our room, this is your view upstairs.

I found their lobby quite creepy. Look at the ambiance and the interiors around. Plus, this is located in a quiet village in Makati.

Also, before I forgot, it also comes with a complimentary breakfast. We chose to have our breakfast in our room.

To be honest, I really liked our room design. Actually, I want my own room to be like this. sans the air-con that’s not really cold. I think it is because the model of the air-con is outdated. Hope they do something about it. The ambiance of the hotel gave us this creepy feeling. At night, the whole village started to look like a ghost town. Plus, I also want the staff to be more accommodating to their customers to make their customers feel welcome.

Our overnight stay experience in Cabana at Shalom Hotel

In very travel, we make sure our accommodation first. Because, why not? Every traveler wants a decent sleep after a tiring day of adventures/activities. Last February, we went to Camp Benjamin for a fun-filled long weekend. For our accommodation, we stayed in a cabana from Shalom Hotel.

If you are looking for a peaceful place, then Shalom Hotel might be the right one for you. It is located inside Camp Benjamin. Here, you can get to connect with nature while relaxing. Why? Because inside Camp Benjamin, full of greeneries can be found.

But if you want to connect more with nature, then this one is for you. We stayed in their Single Cabana.

The aircon in the living room was quite difficult to operate because the remote was not functioning well. But it doesn’t matter, we can open the door and enjoy the fresh air instead.

It also has complimentary fruits from the WIN Farm and two bottled water.

It has a mini kitchen too but note that there are no utensils inside the cabana. But don’t worry, you can request it in the front desk just like what we did.

The aircon in the bedroom was so cold!!! Take note too that they don’t have TV and wifi inside. I guess that is the purpose of their cabana. To connect with the nature and also to the person you’re with.

This room costs 8,500 php (good for 2 person). It also has a complimentary breakfast from Mon’s Restaurant. You can choose whether to eat in the restaurant or deliver it straight to your room. In our case, we want to enjoy the peaceful morning in our cabana so we had our breakfast there.

NOTE: The cabana is quite far from the main hotel. You need to cross that bridge to go to the cabana area.

At first, I am complaining to Ian because there’s no TV and wifi inside the cabana. Ian told me just to enjoy our stay there instead of complaining. That’s what we did! So overall, we had a peaceful stay at their cabana.

One thing I can suggest is to provide a phone inside each cabana to be able to contact the front desk easily if the customer needs something.

Ruby’s Place: A boho-inspired bed and breakfast in Amadeo

One of our accommodations in our 3-day anniversary celebration was located in Amadeo, Cavite. It’s a 30-min ride from Tagaytay. I really insisted checking-in here. Why? You’ll see the reason later. But for now, I’ll introduce you first to Ruby’s Place (former Casa Del Sol).

ABOUT RUBY’S PLACE

As I’ve said a while ago, it was the former Casa Del Sol. One of the famous places located in Amadeo because of its style, which is boho-inspired.

We already went here last 2018 but only as customers to their restaurant, Casa Del Sol-Casa De Amor. Read our full experience here. We went here at daytime but still in awe of its interior. Little did we knew that we will be more in awe when it’s nighttime.

We decided to ate here for dinner although we can order our food from our villa. But because we want to experience the ambiance at night, we still push through and it’s worth it. Look!

It’s just kinda sad because there’s no live band when we went here. HUHU. By the way, here’s what we got for our dinner. The food was better than our first time eating here.

ROOM

Just a tip, the signal is kinda weak in the room. They have a wifi but only have limited data. They also have TV with ABS-CBN TV Plus. So expect that some channels are not available. Also, they have a walky talky inside the room. I think it’s cool! Because nowadays, phone is mainstream. Its been ages since I saw one. HAHA.

BATHROOM

Yes, all villa has bath tubs! It’s just kinda weird because it’s open. I mean, there’s no roof in the bath tub area. HAHA. I’m panicking while taking a bath. I think there’s someone up there, JK. By the way, it comes with free towels and toiletries.

OTHER AMENITIES

They have some books and board games too. If you feel hungry in the middle of the night, they offer some food inside too. Of course, you have to pay for it. It also comes with a complimentary bottled waters and coffee. Oh, before I forgot, you also have a complimentary breakfast for 2! YAY.

How to go there?

FROM MANILA

Take a bus bound for Tagaytay. Alight at Silang Premier Mall. Ride a tricycle and tell the driver to drop you off at Brgy. Halang, Casa Del Sol.

FROM TAGAYTAY

Go to Mahogany Intersection near NBI office. Ride a tricycle and tell the driver to drop you off at Banay-Banay Alfamart. From there, ride a tricycle again and tell the driver to drop you off at Brgy. Halang, Casa Del Sol.

We definitely had fun staying here because of its instagrammable interior. Although they still need to improve some of their services, but overall, it was still a good experience. If I will visit here again, I want to stay in their bigger room which can accommodate 20 persons!

Hop Inn Hotel: Our seaview room experience

Three months ago, I won a free staycation from Traveloka from their #TravisTravels and #CrazyEasyTravels promo at UP Town Center and just this August, we availed it! Let me share to you our experience in Hop Inn Hotel Ermita.

Why I chose Hop Inn Hotel Ermita branch? What caught my attention is their Seaview Room. From there, you can have a beautiful sunset view from Manila Bay.

ABOUT HOP INN HOTEL

This hotel just recently opened some of their branches across the Philippines started last 2016. It’s originally in Thailand. It is designed for budget-conscious business and leisure traveler. At Hop Inn, they will welcome you with their “4 Pillars Promise” which are COMFORT, CLEANLINESS, CONVENIENCE, and SECURITY. Hop Inn Hotel is the perfect choice for business trip or vacation.

Now, let me tour you to the hotel by sharing some of our pictures during our stay.

LOBBY

As you enter the door, their spacious lobby will welcome you. Huge, comfy couch will accompany you while waiting for checking in.

7/11 is just beside the hotel so you don’t need to worry if you’re hungry or need something. It has also a cafe located at the other side of the hotel. You can have your breakfast there as the hotel doesn’t offer breakfast meals.

Upon checking in, they will ask you for a valid ID for confirmation. After that, they will give you 2 key cards (which I didn’t have a pic). One is for your personal key and the other one is for you to left in your room.

Even their hallway is spacious. Look!

ROOM

The room is clean. It has 2 complimentary bottled water inside. It has a work station with a view. In our room, the view is the Manila Bay.

Look how Ian felt comfy with the bed. HAHA.

It has an open closet and a safety vault inside the room.

You can also order food online and delivered it straight to your room just like what we did.

For the cr, it has clean towels, hair dryer, tissue, and soap & shampoo. The cr is spacious too.

RATINGS

ROOM –

The room is simple. Since it’s a hotel, expect the room to be small. But if you’re there just to sleep and rest, it’s good to go. There is space for luggage in case you came from the airport.
The room is clean and bright. Actually, the hotel itself is covered with blue and yellow color that makes it really bright.

RATES –

The rates are very affordable yet it will give you comfort and relaxation! One of the cheapest hotel in the heart of Manila.

Where to Book?

SERVICE –

The staff are very polite and accommodating. From time to time, someone will knock at your door to ask you if you need anything (eg: water). By the way, they already have free complimentary bottled of water inside the room when you check in.
By the way, you can also do early check in just like we did.

AMENITIES –

Since it is a hotel, don’t expect any kitchenware or tools from them.
The room has bed, safety vault, hangers for clothes, work station, cable TV, fast internet connection. I had a bit problem regarding with their WiFi. It seems not working in all mobile phones. I can’t connect my other phone (Huawei) in their WiFi though the other one (Samsung) works well. I don’t know what’s the problem with that. But anyway, it’s okay. I just used my other phone for browsing the whole time of our stay there.
For the cr, they have a hair dryer, clean towels, tissue, and soap & shampoo.
If you need anything, just call their staff at the lobby. They have 24-hour front desk.

LOCATION –

They have few branches now in the Philippines. They also have branches in Thailand. This branch is very accessible and easy to find as they are found in the center of Malate. Nothing to worry about where to eat because it is surrounded by 24-hour convenience stores and restaurants.

By the way, they have a parking space also.
