MV 2GO Maligaya: 2GO Travel newest vessel

MV 2GO Maligaya

2GO Group Inc., the Philippines’ largest integrated transportation and logistics provider, upholds Filipino aspirational values by naming its newest state-of-the-art passenger vessel as MV 2GO Maligaya.

MV 2GO Maligaya

2GO recognizes the Filipinos’ ability to be joyful and uplifting toward others even in the face of hardships and challenges. MV 2GO Maligaya aspires to make sea travel fun, safe, and reliable through its new vessel.

MV 2GO Maligaya

Maligaya is one of the defining qualities with which the Filipino is known for around the world. Masaya is a happy feeling, but Maligaya has a sense of deep joy and youthfulness. As a travel brand, we believe this is reflective of the kind of journey and service that you get from 2GO,” stated Blessie Cruz, 2GO Assistant Vice President for Marketing.

The acquisition of the MV 2GO Maligaya is part of the company’s fleet modernization efforts to provide high speed and reliability in the movement of essential goods nationwide, while at the same time upgrading sea travel onboard experience. According to 2GO Chief Operating Officer Waldo Basilla, “This is a manifestation of 2GO’s commitment in providing superior products and services to our customers. The new addition complements the broader service offerings of the other business units under the 2GO Group. As a major player in the industry, it is imperative for us to take the lead in product innovation and unparalleled service to keep in step with world-class standards”.

MV 2GO Maligaya

The MV 2GO Maligaya is the most technologically advanced roll-on, roll-off passenger (ROPAX) ship that has set sail in the Philippine waters. It features a fun and colorful livery that can energize and enhance the Pinoy travel experience.

MV 2GO Maligaya is a larger ship that can carry 40% more twenty-foot equivalent units (TEU) of cargo capacity compared to 2GO’s current fleet of vessels. It will link Manila, Visayas, and Mindanao via its Manila-Cebu-Cagayan de Oro route. With a top speed of 23.5 knots, it reduces steaming time from Manila to Cebu to only 17 hours making it the fastest cargo vessel in the Philippines today. With this vessel’s addition, 2GO aims to further improve sailing schedule reliability to 95% on time.

Made by Japanese shipbuilders and a German main engine, the MV 2GO Maligaya embodies the latest international shipping standards and technologies, including an integrated navigation and control system, advanced fire alarm systems, and multiple collision bulkheads as a collision mitigating support, among others.

MV 2GO Maligaya

MV 2GO Maligaya is a welcome addition to its current fleet of up to 10 ships, servicing 20 major ports of call in the Philippines. The ship is set to sail its maiden voyage this month of May, and the company has prepared special activities for the passengers of MV 2GO Maligaya for being a part of the first journey.

5 reasons why you should visit Tinipak Lodge and Restaurant

tinipak lodge and restaurant

Last weekend, we just had an amazing trip to Tanay, Rizal. It is a 2-hour drive from Manila. Days before the granular lockdown happened, we encountered one checkpoint along Rizal. They were checking if there were kids in the car and they were looking for a driver’s license.

tinipak lodge and restaurant

After that checkpoint, it was a smooth ride until you get to Daraitan. Your trip to Tinipak Lodge and Restaurant will be going to be rough but we promise you that it will be worth it.

Tinipak Lodge and Restaurant

You will know if you’re near the area when you see a river and a bridge. Yes, you have to cross that bridge. Each car needs to pay 50 PHP upon crossing the river.

In this blog, we will share with you the reasons why you should visit this place when you’re planning to have a getaway after this pandemic.

FOOD ARE SUPERB.

tinipak lodge and restaurant
Restaurant in Tinipak Lodge and Restuarant

After trying some of their food, we wish we’re near to them so we can visit their restaurant and try their food every day. Swear, you must try the food here! They have a restaurant along the highway (Kamalig Restaurant), if you’re around the area, please do visit and try their food.

Here are some of our top picks from their restaurant. But all of the food we had were good, anyway! Note that you can dine-in at their restaurant even if you’re not a guest.

The restaurant is open from 8:00 AM-10:00 PM from Monday to Thursday, 6:00 AM-10:00 PM on Friday, and 6:00 AM-12:00 MN on weekends.

GREAT PLACE TO UNWIND.

We didn’t imagine that we can found a relaxing place here in Tanay, Rizal. Since we all know that Tanay is one of the go-to places if you’re looking for an adventure. But if you’re not that kind of person, then just stay at their lodge. You’ll be relaxed, for sure.

Feel the cold breeze at night while enjoying the bonfire with your smores and sausages. We want to go back and experience the place at night since we have to sleep early.

tinipak lodge and restaurant

What made our stay more memorable was because the owners are so accommodating. Thank you for accommodating us, Reyes family!

CLEAN AND COZY ROOM.

We’re surprised when we saw our room since we’re not expecting too much since it’s a lodge. But look, it’s clean and cozy.

tinipak lodge and restaurant

We stayed in their Dumagat Room which is good for 4 pax. It has 2 king-sized beds. It has an aircon but we didn’t use it since we just want to enjoy the fresh air. It has TV and cable but we didn’t use it also since we just want to enjoy nature.

Our room has its own rattan swing and a veranda where we mostly spent our time with. It has a private bathroom also which has body soap, shampoo, tissue, and complimentary towels.

We also noticed that they are still under construction and currently adding more rooms to accommodate more people at their place.

NOTE: When you checked-in, you are entitled to have a complimentary breakfast.

THEY ARE ON AIRBNB.

Watch our vlog here:

We went to Tinipak River and Tinipak Rock Formations on our 1st day and went to Mt. Daraitan Summit on our 2nd day. They have a legit and super nice tour guide here at Tinipak Lodge and Restaurant.

This is our first time having a staycation on a farm. And we’re excited to share our experience at Farm T-House which is located in Brgy. Duhat, Cavinti, Laguna.

ABOUT FARM T-HOUSE

Here at Farm T-House, they have 4 tiny houses up to date. It is available in Tube, Airy, Slim, and Cube T-House. We stayed on their Tube T-House which is good for 2-4 pax.

Note that food and drinks are not allowed inside the room except for water. Shoes and slippers are also prohibited inside. You can put them on the deck instead.

This is the look of the place at night. More romantic and beautiful.

If you will cook here, you can do it in their kitchen/pantry. They also have a pavilion where you can chill and eat. You can also drink some coffee here for free.

There’s no CR inside the tiny houses but they have a common bathroom behind the pantry/kitchen. Don’t worry because the CR is clean.

Celebrate special occasions at Clyde Suites Tagaytay

clyde suites tagaytay

Finally, our first out-of-town trip after 10 months! We really made it possible since we’re celebrating another milestone.

HAPPY 4TH ANNIVERSARY,

THE HUNGRY TRAVELER PH!!!

Meet Karla and Ian, founder of The Hungry Traveler PH

We celebrated The Hungry Traveler PH‘s anniversary in advance so we can post the photos on the day of our anniversary, which is today. LOL!

And since we’re badly missing Tagaytay, which is also our favorite go-to destination, we decided to celebrate here. And we found a perfect place to celebrate our anniversary.

So thankful that we saw a post regarding Clyde Suites Tagaytay months before and immediately booked a stay with them. They are located in Tagaytay Prime Residences.

Actually, they have 4 units available. You can check the photo below for reference.

We supposed to stay in Taal View room but unfortunately, the only available room on our preferred date was the Bali-inspired room, which was also okay for me.

For the requirements, you only need 1 valid ID upon checking in! And yes, we went to Tagaytay using public transportation. It’s actually our 1st time commuting after 9 months.

We’re scared but we just prayed and took some extra precautions to make ourselves safe during the trip.

We arrived around 6 PM already because of the heavy traffic along Aguinaldo Highway. But don’t worry because here at Clyde Suites, you can do self check-in just like we did. They will instruct you on how to do the self check-in.

Ian was surprised when he saw the surprise/welcome setup. It’s actually my idea to do a surprise setup and we’re both happy with it. It’s so beautiful.

Yes, here at Clyde Suites Tagaytay, they do surprise setups which is very convenient if you have a celebration or any occasions you want to celebrate. From birthdays to anniversaries, they have a package! Just inform them 2-3 days before your check-in date for them to prepare.

Aside from the setup, we’re so inlove with the room itself. I can’t remember how many times I told Ian that I want a room exactly like this. From the design to the things inside, I want it all! HAHA.

Super inlove with their kitchenwares! Look at that aesthetic mugs! Perfect for your morning coffee.

clyde suites tagaytay

For the freebies, they have 2 complimentary bottled waters and 2 instant coffees. They also have free slippers inside the room. On the bathroom, they provided tissue, body wash, and shampoo.

This was the morning view around 6 AM. After few minutes, it became zero visibility.

My favorite part of the room would be their bed of course, plus this closet. Yes, this is a closet. LOL!

For those who are asking, they have an internet connection and SMART TV in the room. Actually, we just enjoyed watching videos on YouTube and listened to music during our stay. Definitely a breather!!!

We’ll definitely go back here and hopefully, we can visit the other rooms too! Due to COVID-19, their swimming pool is currently unavailable until futher notice.

WHERE TO BOOK?

They are also on AirBnb. Good news, you can get 1,600 PHP discount on your 1st booking if you sign up here: www.airbnb.com/c/karlaninam

Here is the link of their AirBnb room: Bali-inspired room

You can also inquire thru their FB page which is Clyde Suites Tagaytay

Since we badly miss traveling, we had to share our Bohol trip wayback 2016 to lessen the sadness due to the recent pandemic (COVID-19).

And since these photos were taken in 2016, some of the photos were maybe different to present.

Maybe today, there’s more tourist attractions in Bohol that we didn’t visit yet back then.

Tagbilaran Airport

Who else here are taking a picture at the airport for remembrance? Hehe. The airport in Bohol is not that big compared to other airports in the country, though we’ve been only in Caticlan, Kalibo, Clark, Puerto Princesa, and NAIA.

We stayed in Bohol for 5 days and 4 nights. I must say that this is enough to explore Bohol. You can also do a sidetrip to Cebu via ferry for about an hour only but we didn’t try.

Enough with the story, we will now share some of the famous tourist attractions in Bohol that you need to visit!

CHOCOLATE HILLS

Location: Carmen, Bohol

Enjoyed this place too as I saw a lot of different and colorful butteflies. And for the photo, they will make you look like a real butterfly in the photo but you have to be creative and I’m not so that’s the output. LOL

And last but not the least, we highly recommend this resort when staying in Bohol. Though this is quite expensive but definitely worth the price, The Bellevue Hotel.

Also, just wanna let you know that this is our 2nd time here. And we must say, there’s a lot of improvement from the last time we went here. In case you want to know our 1st experience at Valleypoint Campsite, kindly read here.

WHAT TO DO AT VALLEYPOINT CAMPSITE?

1. ENJOY UNLIMITED COFFEE

Who doesn’t want unlimited brewed coffee while looking at this view, right? What if we tell you that you can have this for FREE. Yup, IT’S FREE.

2. CHILL AT CAMPERS AREA

During our 2018 visit, the campers area is only open until 10 PM. But today, it is 24 HOURS OPEN! Here, you can literally chill on their beanbags, play board games, read books, cuddle with their colorful bears, and enjoy the view.

3. STAY IN ANY OF THEIR ACCOMMODATION

Kubo Glamping (3,500 php; good for 2 pax)

This is one of their newest room. For me, it’s the upgraded version of glamping. Why? Because it almost look like a normal hotel… but with a view.

Imagine waking up with this view…

Aside from the usual mattress, pillows, and blankets, it also has a TV which you can watch movies because they will give you a flash drive that have lots of it.

Of course, disregard the aircon since you are in Benguet but they have a fan in case.

Tent Glamping (starts at 850 php to 1,350 php per head)

This is where we stayed last 2018. Unlike the Kubo Glamping, you’ll experience here a normal camping in tent. But the twist is you’ll get a wonderful view plus you’ll also enjoy the weather.

Check our photos here: https://thehungrytravelerph.com/valleypoint-campsite-the-first-glamping-site-in-benguet/

Both Kubo and Tent glamping have storage boxes to put your shoes and other things to avoid these in getting wet.

In case you don’t want these kind of rooms, they have normal rooms which is good for sharing.

4. DINE AT THEIR RESTAURANT/MINI BAR

Who wants to eat with a view? Yes?! They offer Filipino food and also they offer buffet every weekend. So don’t miss it! Note that all checked-in guests have complimentary breakfast.

5. ENJOY THE ACTIVITIES

AIRSOFT/AIRSOFT MAZE

When we went here last 2018, this is the only activity they offer. But now, you can do the regular airsoft or with a twist, the AIRSOFT MAZE.

ARCHERY

I came back here for this! I was actually excited when I saw on their Facebook page that they now has Archery. We enjoyed this one. Ian did hit the target. WOW!

6. VISIT THEIR ART GALLERY

This is also one of their newest attraction here in Valleypoint Campsite. Loved the concept and the idea.

7. ENJOY THE VIEW

Of course, don’t miss the breathtaking view. Every second is gold. The view may disappear in just one snap. Look how it changes from time to time.

8. PHOTO OPS IN THE GARDEN

Ever since, I loved this area. Full of flowers and leaves plus the view. Aaah life! You can also chill in one of their kubo.

9. DO BONFIRE

Yes, they have an area for bonfire. Perfect while sipping your brewed coffee.
